The Fairfield High School Powerlifting teams are pushing new limits. In the month of competitions thus far, new personal records have been set and lifters have realized the benefits of the endless reps in the gym each week.

Although they all play favorites to a certain lift, athletes train daily to improve their squat, bench press, and deadlift.

These three lifts are combined for a grand total at a meet and medals awarded in several different weight classes.

Success in this sport requires dedication to a new lifestyle, being mindful of the following: workouts, diet, sleep, and overall health.

Powerlifting season lasts only a few months and those most accomplished put in work year-round. Competitions are typically held on the weekends and the team usually travels to attend meets.

Fairfield hosts a couple of meets each year, including the Girls Regional Meet. All matches are documented on the Texas High School Powerlifting Association and Texas High School Women’s Powerlifting Association websites.
