Hosting a Farmers Market is Fairfield High School’s Horticulture class starting this week. If you are in need of plants, stop by the FHS Greenhouse after school hours on Tuesdays, Wednesday, and Thursdays from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. The Farmers Market will be open from March 26th through May 18th, or until they are out of items. Members of the Horticulture class will also be at the Fairfield Festival on the square on Saturday, April 20th. Plants will be ready to be transferred into the ground to grow vegetables, herbs, flowers and succulents. Available will be two types of hanging baskets, each costing $10. Other plants, costing $2 each, include three different types of flowers, white onion, green bell peppers, jalapeno peppers, lettuce, beefsteak tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, basil, cilantro, parsley, oregano, lavender and succulents.
