A planned power outage will begin in downtown Fairfield, Texas around 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 6th (weather permitting). Power is expected to be out until the evening.
This will provide safety for all concerned while Oncor replaces electric lines.
Work is expected to be completed by the evening of the same day.
Oncor is asking for minimal traffic from Dunbar Street to Highway 84, limited to residents only. They will have contract trucks line up and down that street.
The less interruption of the area, the better for a timely completion.
Areas affected by the power outage will include Highway 84 (Commerce Street) and Reunion Street from Dunbar to Williford; Hwy 27 (Commerce Street) from Steward Lane to Williford Street; and subsequent cross streets between Commerce, Reunion and Highway 84: Wesley, Wood, Bateman, Harmon, Mount, Keechi, Hall, Cotton, Bradley and Dunbar.
Some businesses are opting to close that day, or offer limited services, as electrical power is integral to their work.
Freestone County Times will have at least one person in the office for most of the day; however the only tools available for our reporters will be pen and paper.
