The congregation of Calvary Baptist Church in Fairfield will be presenting their annual Christmas musical this coming Sunday at 10:45 am, which will feature an incredible collection of beautiful lyrics and music.
‘Peace Has Come: A Musical for Christmas’ will feature seven different songs with two featuring soloist Amy Rutledge and Kim Whitaker. Rutledge will perform a solo part in ‘Breath of Heaven (Mary’s Song) while Whitaker will be featured in ‘What a Beautiful Name’. Calvary’s twenty-five member choir has been practicing this year’s musical for several months.
Other songs in the musical will be ‘Peace Has Come’ with ‘O Come, All Ye Faithful’, “Come, Thou Long-Expected Jesus’, ‘I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day’, ‘Heavenly Peace’, and ‘Peace in the Midst of the Storm’.
Katie Allen will be the narrator throughout the musical which will instill upon the audience why the prophet Isaiah called Jesus the ‘Prince of Peace’.
“This musical may be the best collection of music and songs we have ever performed at Christmas,” music and education minister Shelby Race stated. “You will leave this performance with a breath of freshness of just how important the birth of Jesus Christ was, and still is to the world today”, he added.
“Come one and all to Calvary this Sunday and be a part of a special performance of our talented adult choir”, stated Pastor Terry Skinner. “You will be blessed by this incredible Christmas musical, and we will be blessed to have you join us as we honor and celebrate our Savior’s birth”.
Calvary Baptist Fairfield is located at 220 E. Main. The performance will begin at 10:45 am this Sunday, December 16th.
