Parkview Regional Hospital earned the prestigious five-star rating for quality of patient care in the latest assessment from the national Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
The five-star rating is the highest rating a hospital can earn and summarizes data from CMS’ Care Compare website, which provides consumers with information on a variety of healthcare settings. The ratings, released annually by CMS (but updated quarterly on Care Compare), use nearly 50 quality measures for over 4,000 hospitals nationwide to rank locations from one-star to the coveted five-star.
“Parkview is honored to be recognized by CMS as among the nation’s best providers in terms of the quality of our patient care,” said Edwina Miner, Chief Nursing Officer. “We strive to provide our patients with high quality, compassionate care, and this five-star rating validates our teams’ hard work and commitment. An essential part of our mission is making the Mexia/Limestone community healthier, and we best achieve that by delivering the highest quality of care.”
The Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating summarizes data from existing measures on Care Compare for each hospital to allow users to easily compare hospitals. Patients and caregivers can also compare hospitals’ performance for many common conditions. With the Provider Data Catalog, users can explore and download hospital data, as well as data on ambulatory surgical centers, inpatient psychiatric facilities, and some cancer hospitals. Publicly displaying quality information encourages hospitals and other health care facilities to make continued improvements in care.
Parkview has served the Mexia/Limestone community for more than 58 years, delivering exceptional care to patients through a number of services, including acute medical/surgical care, rehabilitation, surgery and emergency care.
