On September 11, 2001 a great National tragedy happened. It is now called “Patriots Day.” In honor of this day and also because of the turmoil our beloved country is going through at this time, the National Day of Prayer Organization has asked for another time of prayer…“Cry out America”… to reunite all of us.
The emphasis is on getting the momentum going for daily prayer from each of us for our country. We will hold a gathering at the County Courthouse in Fairfield from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. on this year’s Patriots Day.
I am asking all county pastors to encourage their members to come spend a few moments in prayer with us and to hear patriotic songs.
I am also asking all pastors to come and gather within the different groups to help motivate this call for daily prayer for our country.
The Bible tells us in James 5:16 that “the effective fervent prayer of a righteous man, avails much”. It also tell us in 2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land”.
People always ask what they can do for a cause. For this cause you can come out and pray!
