The Teague Police Department will be conducting Operation Blue Santa again this year!
In the upcoming days we will be collecting toy donations for families needing assistance for their children to have a joyful Christmas celebration. We will be contacting area businesses to seek permission to place collection boxes for ease of access for the community to donate. Please keep your eyes open for these boxes in our area stores. You may also bring wrapped or unwrapped gifts to the police department for donating to this cause. We will begin picking up the donation boxes and complete receiving gift donations around noon on December 16th, 2020.
We will have applications, for those in need, to fill out shortly. This will allow us to begin evaluating community needs (we will have a follow up post once these are ready). The applications will be available at the Police Department and with collection boxes.
This year we are utilizing the Community Center for distributing gifts on December 19th, 2020 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. We are planning to have cookies and hot coco, with snowman poop (marshmallows) if you like.
“We hope to have another successful year of making our community children’s Christmas memorable!” says Teague Police Chief DeWayne Philpot.
