Freestone County Sheriff’s Deputies, Lieutenant Willis and Deputy Darby, with assistance from Teague Police Department, attempted to arrest a subject on a warrant at a residence in Teague on Friday, July 13, 2018 and wound up apprehending three subjects instead.

Upon arrival to the home, officers spoke with two male subjects, John Crundwell (39) and Joe Lane (47), owner of the home and a convicted felon.

While at the house, officers discovered the third subject, a female, Katie Kelly (20), inside.

Deputies also noticed the smell of marijuana coming from the living room. Further investigation led to the discovery of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, digital scales of measure, and a 12-gauge pump shotgun.

During the investigation process, one of the male subjects tried to discard a plastic baggie of methamphetamine into a Sprite bottle containing water.

All three were arrested, transported to Freestone County Jail, and charged with Possession of Controlled Substance PG 1 over 200 grams but less that 400 grams (felony).

Lane was also charged with Unlawful Possession of Firearm by a Felon and is out on bail.
