Rainfall Report

October maintained its position as the wettest month of the year with 11.33 inches of rain. We had 11 days with measurable rainfall with a greatest on-day total of 2.96 inches on October 13. Normal rainfall for October is 5.30 inches.
Our total rainfall for the year now stands at 35.39 inches. Normal rainfall through October is 35.97 inches.
Temperature-wise, October did cool down somewhat with a low temperature of 45 degrees on October 15. Eleven days with measurable rainfall and several days with cloud cover also contributed to the cooler weather. We had a high temperature of 95 degrees on October 6.

LOOKING AHEAD TO NOVEMBER: November usually produces our first frost. According to “The Farmer’s Almanac,” the first frost for our area (Corsicana area) normally occurs around November 27. Also according to “The Farmer’s Almanac,” temperatures should be above normal with above normal rainfall for most areas of Texas for November. Our normal rainfall for November is 3.87 inches.
Normal rainfall values currently used were derived from averages over the twenty-year period from 1997 through 2016.
