read your public notices and get involved

Texas newspapers have been publishing public notices since 1836. As your hometown paper in Freestone County, we are proud to provide this service to our communities.

Public notices are a community’s window into the government. From zoning regulations to local budgets, governments have used local newspapers to inform citizens of its actions as an essential part of your right to know.

Reading your public notices is the best way to find out what is happening in your community and how it affects you. If you don’t read public notices, you never know what you might miss.

This website is a public service made possible by the newspapers of Texas, members of Texas Press Association, at no additional cost to taxpayers.

The Texas Legislature passed SB-943 in 2023 to expand transparency of public notices. Any notice that is required to be published in a newspaper must also now be published online at TexasPublicNotices.com.

Please Note:
Every state in our nation, including Texas, has laws that regulate the manner in which public notices are published. These laws are designed to ensure that people within a community receive important information about the actions of their government.
