Dr. Russell E. Kelly Brings 20 Years Experience
Palestine Regional Medical Center last week announced that Russell Kelly, M.D., has joined its staff and will be offering interventional cardiology services to patients throughout East Texas. Dr. Kelly brings more than 20 years of clinical experience to PRMC and is the first interventional cardiologist to join PRMC’s hospital’s medical staff this year.
“Dr. Kelly has years of experience in treating a range of complex heart conditions, and he is an excellent addition to our hospital team,” said Roy Finch, CEO of Palestine Regional Medical Center. “Heart disease is an increasing concern in Palestine, and Dr. Kelly’s expertise will be important as PRMC strives to meet our region’s evolving healthcare needs and make our community healthier.”
Dr. Kelly joins Palestine Regional Medical Center from Citrin Cardiology and Providence Hospital in Mobile, Alabama where he has served as an attending physician for two years. Before Citrin, he was the Chairman of the Division of Cardiology at John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County for thirteen years.
Dr. Kelly graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1987. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Bellevue and New York University Hospitals and a cardiology fellowship at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Kelly then completed a second fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at Rush University Medical Center. Dr. Kelly is a diplomate, ABIM, of Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology.
