Streetman Volunteer Fire Department held a dedication and “Push In” ceremony to issue in the use of their new truck on Saturday, July 13, 2024.
To officially call the truck into service, Freestone County Dispatch made an inaugural page.
Assistant Chief Matthew Marfell gave a prayer of blessing over the truck, firefighters, and the community.
Firefighter John Sutton, spoke on behalf of the department, thanking those who donated to the purchase of the truck and the guys who worked on outfitting of the truck.
Following the ceremony, guests were able to check out the new truck, enjoy some cake and refreshments, and visit with members of the department and community.
Streetman VFD would like to thank all who donated to the purchase and outfit of the truck, including Freestone County Commissioners, especially PCT. 4 Commissioner, Clyde Ridge. They would also like to thank Kevin Davis and Robert Cockerell for the extra man-hours they spent working on outfitting the new truck, and John Sutton for spear-heading the project and seeking out folks to donate.
Currently, the department consists of Chief Brian Davis, Assistant Chief Matthew Marfell, Captain Kevin Davis, Secretary/Treasurer Heather Marfell, and Firefighters John Sutton, Brian McNett, and Robert Cockerell.
