Teague ISD Band is looking towards a fun and energy-filled year with new Head Band Director, Corey Hiles.
In 2014-2016 he began his career at Teague ISD, Hiles states, “I came back because of the kids.”
He describes Teague ISD as a big, huge family atmosphere and already talks about how much he loves it here.
Hiles brings energy and motivation to the Band department that matches what he calls his students, “driving, competitive spirit.”
Another thing he wants to focus on is the band family, ‘Bamily’, which was brought about in previous years.
Hiles recently graduated from Tarleton State University with Master’s Degree in Music Education.
He attended University of Arkansas at Monticello where he earned his Bachelor’s in Music Education.
He came to Teague ISD as the Assistant Band Director from 2014 to 2016 before heading out to get experience as a Head Band Director.
Newton High School offered him that experience as their Head Band Director before he spent three years at Paul Pewitt CISD in the same position.
Now, he has come full circle by returning to lead the Teague Lions Band.
