The City of Streetman now has its first Municipal Court, including a new Judge and Clerk.
“I am honored to have been asked to be Streetman’s first Municipal Judge,” says Cinnamon Archibald-Gonzalez who was sworn in on March 10, 2025.
In the works since October 2024, the process taking longer than anticipated, the Court is now open to the public as of mid-April, and is currently located at City Hall, 204 E. Main Street in Streetman.
The Cities of Streetman and Wortham have an ongoing contract wherein the Wortham Police Department also services the City of Streetman, and said contract was recently renewed for an additional two years, to end on September 30, 2026.
Both cities continue to grow, producing a significant number of tickets, which previously all ran through the Wortham Municipal Court. Most city leadership felt it was time to split and create a Streetman Municipal Court, which will also bring a little more revenue to Streetman.
Previously, Streetman received a small percentage of the money collected from tickets written in city limits, now they will only pay the City of Wortham for their Policing services.
Judge Archibald-Gonzales also serves as Freestone County, Justice of the Peace, Pt. 3, which she assures is still her top priority. However, she will now also serve as Municipal Judge for Streetman, holding court at least once a month, more if needed.
Serving as Municipal Court Clerk is Danielle Grecu, who was hired on March 20, 2025. She will be in the office on a part-time basis to accept payments and perform other duties.
