Changes have come to Freestone Medical Center’s Emergency Room, and it’s definitely for the better!
On Wednesday, January 22, 2025, FMC held a town hall meeting at the clinic to introduce its new partner, ACPHealth, to the community.
The partnership began on January 6, 2025.
President of ACPHeath, Dr. Andy Wilson, spoke to guests, highlighting the reason that FMC CEO and Board Members chose to make such a big change.
Based in College Station, ACPHeath only works in rural communities and offers only Board-Certified ER Doctors to its partners. They provide this service throughout the states of Texas, Kansas, and Louisiana.
“Our mission statement is to save rural hospitals and to create amazing rural heath careers,” explains Dr. Wilson.
He goes on to say, “the board has made a complete tectonic shift here at FMC, and we are excited to be part of that change.”
With ACPHealth, Fairfield’s ER will have at least one Board-Certified ER Doctor on site 24/7, round the clock. Their schedules are created 6-months in advance to provide a stable team of emergency health providers.
“The days of the revolving door of doctors is over,” explains Dr. Wilson.
According to him, the new doctors love being in Fairfield and serving at FMC ER. He says that he has received nothing but positive feedback so far.
In addition, they are willing to work with patients’ primary and specialist doctors to ensure even better health care.
The emergency room is already seeing less transfers from the facility due to most patients being fully cared for in-house.
Stay tuned for an introduction to the team of doctors now serving Freestone Medical Center’s ER.
