What is 4-H?

4-H is a dynamic, youth organization that provides a safe environment for kids between the ages of 8 (and in the third grade) or 9 to 18 to grow and develop life skills that will follow them into adulthood. 4-H offers learning experiences in such areas as animal, food & nutrition, science, photography, health and leadership through hands-on, fun, educational monthly club and project meetings.

What does 4-H Cost?

In Texas, if a youth enrolls in 4-H between September 1 and December 31, the fee is only $20 per year. After December 31 the cost increases to $25. This fee covers a young person’s participation fee at the state level; however, depending on the project(s) the 4-H member wishes to participate in, additional costs could be incurred.

How do we join 4-H?

4-H is managed at the county level by the County Extension Office. Freestone County Extension Office is located at 440 E Main, Suite 10, Box 5, Fairfield TX 75840 or at 903-389-3436. The best way to learn more and to join is to visit a community 4-H club meeting.
