This upcoming weekend is a fun-filled time full of all kinds of exciting events.

Start off your day at the Fairfield Market Days at the Fairgrounds, and check out what all the different vendors have for sale. That night, at 8:30 p.m., head out to Fairfield Lake State Park, in costume if you want, to hear Spooky Stories & S’mores.
Saturday,
Oct. 19th
This day is set up to help make sure no one in Freestone County is bored.
The west side of Freestone County at the First United Methodist Church of Wortham is their Annual Fall Festival, Country Store and Barbeque. The Country Store starts things off from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and Barbecue plates from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Continue shopping at Fairfield Market Days before heading over to the Courthouse Square to check out the Fairfield Fest – Downtown Market vendors delights.
While at the square do not miss Freestone Medical Center’s Jungle Playground during their Annual Health Fair from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Next, you can take your pet, in their very best costume, to the Howls and Meows Pet Costume Contest hosted by the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce beginning at 11:00 a.m., also right on the square.
Make sure you wait to hear who won the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce’s Scarecrow Contest around 1:00 p.m.

To end your day on a delicious note, start heading towards Teague, Texas.
Starting at 5:00 p.m. is the Fall Jamboree out at Freestone Cowboy Church located between Fairfield and Teague at 105 FCR 740. Cake Auction, Bounce House, chili dogs and more are being served up with fellowship.
Teague Volunteer Fire Department has convinced Hyden to come out of retirement to make the Famous Hyden’s BBQ for their fundraiser serving from 6:00 p.m. till sold out right at their fire station. Are you excited? Are your taste buds?
For those heading north to Richland Chambers Reservoir, the Community Care Club will be having a fundraiser called the RC Lake “Southside Fare.” Located at the Southern Oaks Volunteer Fire Department, you can choose 1 of 3 restaurant meal with a $12.00 food voucher just $7.00 for 12 and under.
If a bit of excitement is still needed, Fairfield Lake State Park will be doing their wildly popular Blacklight Night Hike starting at 8:00 p.m. that night at the South Boat Ramp.
