Mark Your Calendar for these not-to-miss events

The month of April is quickly becoming full of special events for the community in our small towns of Freestone County, beginning with visits this week by a few Texas celebrities.

Miss Texas – Annette Addo-Yobo will visit with children on Wednesday morning during Fairfield Library’s Story Time, beginning at 10:00 a.m. The library is located at 350 W. Main Street.

Miss Addo-Yobo made history as the first American immigrant titleholder to become Miss Texas.

During her year-long reign, Miss Texas is pursuing advocacy for her community service initiative, The S.P.A.R.K. Project: Autism Safety, Awareness, and Education.

For more information about the event, visit online at fairfieldtxlibrary.org or give them a call at 903-389-3574.

Also on Wednesday, a Ribbon Cutting ceremony will be held for The Mama Coach – Elaine Honeycutt, PLLC beginning at 12:00 noon at the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Center. This unique local business helps with parenting solutions for your baby’s needs and your peace of mind.

NOTE:  The hotdog fundraiser lunch and National Child Abuse Prevention Month kick off has been RESCHEDULED to Friday, April 11 due to the weather forecast.

A signing of the proclamation is still set for 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 4, 2025 at the courthouse with County Judge Linda Grant.

For questions, or to make a private donation to Freestone County CPS Board, please contact Cheryl Evans at 903-388-3756 or Mandy Chavers at 832-530-1790.

Later that evening, join the Trinity Star Arts Council as they present a fundraising performance by Texas favorite, Jake Hooker and The Outsiders.
