MILDREDGE LEE ANDY, age 98, passed away on January 18, 2022 at Freestone Medical Center in Fairfield, Texas, exactly 11 hours and 39 minutes from her 99th birthday.
Mildredge was the third daughter born to the late Jimmy Lee and Crecia Ellen Keeton Lee Govan in Freestone County.
Mildredge accepted Christ at an early age and united with Hopewell Methodist Church. When the church consolidated, she united with Jones Chapel United Methodist Church. She faithfully served as a member of the United Methodist Women and as a Communion Stewardess.
Mother Andy was the oldest living member of the congregation at the time of her passing.
Mildredge was employed many years by the Fisher, Tate, Lee Pickett, Utley, and Wheeler Families.
Mildredge encouraged her children to love Jesus, serve others, study hard, and get a good education so that they could get a better job than the one she had. She loved to cook, garden, and plant flowers. Two of her greatest joys were looking at the walls filled with pictures of the family and friends she loved dearly and sitting on the porch, visiting with her siblings.
Mildredge was a unique, quiet, fun-loving, compassionate, Faithful servant. She served her church, parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, children, grandchildren, great grands, great great grands, nieces, and nephews. Recently, she was blessed to meet and visit with her youngest great great grandchild for the first time.
