The Cities of Fairfield and Wortham, as well as Wortham ISD will be having an election this year.

Fairfield ISD will have a ballot for a special Bond Election.

Election Day is set for Saturday, May 3, 2025. Early Voting will start Tuesday, April 22nd.

Final candidate lists for the City and School elections are as follows.

–Fairfield ISD – 3 At-Large Trustee positions (Kim Whitaker, Penny Meredith, and Ashlee Daniel)

All three incumbents have filed for reelection with no opposition, so FISD School Board is expected to cancel the election for trustees during their next meeting.

Voters will still have a ballot this year, as Fairfield ISD is calling a special Bond Election in the amount of $105,395,000.

If approved, the bond proposal will address aging facilities, enhance academic learning environments, expand Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, and prepare the district for future growth. Proposed projects include a new high school with a 600-student capacity and a 1400-seat auditorium, wrapped around the Johnson Activity Center, along with districtwide renovations and improvements at the elementary, intermediate, and junior high campuses.

–Teague ISD – 2 Trustee positions: Place 2 (Brian Bowers) and Place 4 (Jeff Gonzales)

Both incumbents have filed for reelection. No other candidates filed, so TISD School Board is expected to cancel the election for trustees during their next meeting.

–Wortham ISD – 3 Trustee positions: Place 2 (Billy Perez), Place 3 (Brent Jones) and Place 4 (Sam Wright)

Incumbent Place 2, Billy Perez has filed for reelection with Kyle Collins filing in opposition.

Incumbent Place 3, Brent Jones has filed for reelection with no opponent.

Ryan Carr has filed for Place 4. Initially, Incumbent Place 4, Sam Wright filed for reelection but has since withdrawn from the race.

–Dew ISD – None

School Board elections for Dew ISD are held in November.

–City of Fairfield – 3 Positions: Place 3 (Previously Bobby Nichols, now serving as Mayor, currently vacant), Place 4 (Roger Keeton), and Place 5 (Angela Oglesbee)

Running to fill Place 3 are Rick Edgett, Marcus Mason, and William Freeman.

Incumbent Place 4, Roger Keeton has filed for reelection with Josh Bayless running against.

Incumbent Place 5, Angela Oglesbee is running unopposed for her seat.

–City of Teague – 3 Positions: Place II (Jerry Ballew), Place IV (Bridget Gauntt) and Place V (Timothy Campbell)

All incumbents have filed for reelection with no opposition. City of Teague is expected to cancel their election during their next meeting.

–City of Wortham – 3 Positions: Mayor (Pellie Goolsby), 2 Council Members at Large (Scott Batts and Patrick Evans)

Mayor Pellie Goolsby has filed for reelection with Patty Jones running in opposition.

Incumbents Scott Batts and Patrick Evans have both filed for reelection with Deborah Darlene Butcher Evans vying for one of the two seats.
