The monthly FCRTA meeting will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 9th, at Los Ranchos Bar and Grill in Fairfield. This will be our last local meeting until September. Lunch will be ordered off the menu, and each person will pay for his or her own meal. Our new officers will be installed and a report of the State Convention will be given. Mary Lee, the treasurer, will be taking membership renewals for the upcoming year.
This year’s officers and the newly elected officers will be traveling to Waco on Tuesday, May 8th, to attend the District 12 Spring Convention. If you would like to attend this event, please contact an officer.

A Celebration of Public Education Rally is coming up in Houston on May 19th. FCRTA is making plans and investigating hiring a chartered bus to Houston to this rally to support public education. If anyone knows of someone who would like to help sponsor a chartered bus to defray the costs or you would like to attend, please contact Alicia Smith.
Run-off Elections will be May 22nd, and early voting is the week before. The teacher retirement healthcare sustained a severe blow this past year. Our teacher retirement annuities are currently under attack. Please vote for public education friendly candidates.
