Mary Alice Teer, 96, of Kirvin, passed away Friday, September 11, 2020 in Fairfield.
Services were held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 13, 2020 at Capps Memorial Chapel with Mr. Lonnie Dodson officiating. Interment followed at Woodland Cemetery in Kirvin. Pallbearers were Tim Goerner, Randy Pullin, Rodney Latham, Chance Latham, Joey Latham and Scott Dodson. Honorary bearers were Bryan Dodson, Blake Goerner, Koleton Latham, B.J. Latham, Ely Latham and Dustin Goerner.
Mrs. Teer was born July 15, 1924 in Fairfield to parents William Leroy and Ruby Alice Rosser Minchew. She was a lifetime area resident and longtime member of Kirvin Baptist Church. She married Bruce Teer on February 19, 1944 in Freestone County and he preceded her in death in November of 1979. Mrs. Teer was known for her love of cooking, quilting and playing dominoes. She very much loved to visit with her family and friends. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Teer; a great-grandson, Peyton Goerner; four sisters and nine brothers.
Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Bonelle Latham and husband Jess of Kirvin; Brucene Latham and husband Roy also of Kirvin; a daughter-in-law, Nell Teer of Nacogdoches; one brother, Aubrey Minchew and wife Joyce Ann of Waco; a sister, Anne Smith of Fairfield; six grandchildren, Sheri Dodson, Randy Pullin, LeAnn Goerner, Rodney Latham, Joey Latham and Steven Latham; 11 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
