Just a month away, the Christmas season is going to be a fun-filled time with the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce.
First, the annual Christmas decorating contests will begin December 1st and run through December 20th.
Business owners are encouraged to enter the Store Front Decorating Contest to dress the town in holiday cheer. Trim your windows, doors and more with Christmas spirit.
First place winners will receive $100 in Chamber Bucks. Second and third place will receive ribbons.
Winners will be notified on Wednesday, December 21st.

Residents are invited to enter the Tour of Lights decorating contest. Entries will be judged on originality of display, interaction with the community and creativity.
First place will receive $500, Second place will earn $300 and Third place will be awarded $200.
Contest will run December 1st – 20th; winners notified on December 21st.

This year’s Christmas Parade will have a Charlie Brown theme. Businesses and organizations are called to decorate and enter a float, a car or a marching group.
The event will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 3rd; line-up is at 3:00 p.m. at the Fairfield Elementary school. The parade route will wind around the courthouse square.
Cash prizes will be awarded for First, Second and Third place.
No horses will be allowed this year (due to safety issues). No sirens or horns will be allowed to sound.
You may walk and give candy; no throwing candy from moving vehicles.
The Chamber of Commerce will host Santa Claus for the parade. Please do NOT have any additional live Santa’s on your float. Float entries must be received by noon on Friday, December 2nd. Parade applications may be emailed to chamber@fairfieldtx.com Old Time Christmas event will be held on the Freestone County courthouse lawn on Saturday, December 3rd. The event will include a Nativity Scene, Petting Zoo, Kiddie Rides, Parade and Food Vendors.
Jingle All The Way event will include ice skating, visits with Santa, kid’s activities and hot chocolate on the square on Saturday, December 17th.
