Get ready! The big one is coming in November.

The 2017 Fairfield One Stop Recycle Drop is scheduled for Saturday, November 18th from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon.

Bring ALL your recycling to the drop off location at Fairfield High School Bus Loop on Post Oak Road.

Acceptable items for November 18th include paper, plastic, cardboard, tin, aluminum, medication, clothing, shoes, electronics, batteries, glass, and eyeglasses. (CRT TVs and CRT Monitors are limited to 2 per household).

–Medication Disposal: Freestone County Environmental Health officers will accept medications for responsible disposal. Unwanted prescription & over-the-counter medication is accepted. No liquids or needles.

–Textiles: Clothing, coats, shoes, towels, sheets, blankets, etc. All items must be clean and dry. Items in good, reusable condition are donated to families in need in Freestone County and to the FUMC homeless ministry. FUMC youth group is collecting shoes to donate to micro-entrepreneurs in 3rd world countries. Items no longer usable are recycled.

–Electronics: URT will accept IT electronics for recycling. URT clears all personal information to DOD standards. Acceptable items include computers, monitors, and all accessories, printers, ink cartridges, small copy/fax machines, cell phones, internet wires, cables, TVs and power cords. **CRT TVs and CRT Monitors – limit of two per household.

–Batteries: Batteries Plus Bulbs will accept NiCd, NiMH, lead, lithium ion batteries and batteries of AC/DC equipment. This includes car batteries, contact the Battery Recycling Services to get the full details.

–Prescription Eyeglasses, sunglasses, reading glasses, glasses frames, and accessories will be accepted for donation to the Fairfield Lions Club.

–Fairfield Library is accepting donations of Hardback Books in like new condition, wooden puzzles, like new games, and any craft supplies.

Recycle dates are 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Nov. 18, Dec. 23, Jan. 27, Feb. 24, and Mar. 24.

Acceptable items include paper, cardboard, tin, aluminum cans, plastic & glass (please remove lids from glass and separate glass from other items).

The community recycle event is sponsored as a partnership between the Fairfield ISD Recycle Team, Fairfield History Club, FHS and FJH Interact Club, FHS Family & Community Services Class, FUMC Youth, Detective Bill Madding, Waste Connections, Fairfield Rotary Club, Teen Library Corps, NRG Energy – Limestone Plant, and the City of Fairfield.
