Funeral services for Marcus V. (Marc) Turner, 69, were held on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague.
Interment followed with funeral honors provided by the U. S. Army at Birdston Cemetery near Streetman.
A visitation was held on Wednesday, June 19, 2019, with the family present at the funeral home.
Mr. Turner passed away Monday, June 17, 2019 at his residence near Streetman.
Marcus Vernon (Marc) Turner was born in Bryan, Texas on December 20, 1949 to parents, Vernon Webb & Josephine Glass Turner.
He graduated with the Class of 1968 from Richfield High School in Waco, Texas.
Marc was drafted into the United States Army in 1971 and served during the Vietnam War. After the Army, he worked for Gibson’s stores in Waco. He eventually worked for TP&L and later retired as a Master Electrician from TXU Big Brown in 2004 after over 30 years.
Marc enjoyed entertaining, cooking, golf and shooting competition sporting clays and offering unsolicited advice; but more than anything he loved all of his grandkids.
Mr. Turner is survived by his wife of 20 years, Gail Turner; his four children, Marcus Turner & wife Kayla, Tammy Turner Carruthers & husband Jeffrey, Jamie Arnett & wife Niki, and Nicole Ballard & husband Jayme; eleven grandchildren; one brother, Terry Turner & wife Virginia; numerous other relatives and friends, including special friends, Dale DuVall and Herman “Hamp” Hampton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon & Josephine Turner; and one grandson, Robert Arnett.
