Guest speaker Imelda Aguirre is the Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Manger for Alzheimer’s Association Dallas & Northeast Texas Chapter.
Imelda Aguirre obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary studies with a minor in Education at the University of Texas at Dallas. Imelda is an experienced non-profit professional with more than fifteen years of work.
She is driven by health disparities and takes pride in providing educational health resources and information to underserved communities.
As an education professional Imelda’s goals include providing underserved communities better access to health and resources, early diagnosis of chronic diseases including Alzheimer’s diesease, and helping individuals recognize a better quality of life for themselves and their families.
Part of her work involves outreach and establishing partnerships within the Dallas and surrounding areas.
She has also created the Dallas Latino Resource Coalition, a monthly networking and meeting space for organizations to share resources, events and information to help extend resources to families and local businesses in the Dallas and Fort Worth communities.
Imelda currently works primarily with caregivers and individuals with a diagnosis as a Care Consultant in Dallas and surrounding counties in Texas. She provides one-on one care planning, crisis management, and information and referral for families affected by Alzheimer’s disease.
