Thursday, May 2nd
Begin the weekend early on Thursday, May 2nd at Shine Studio in Fairfield as they celebrate National Pilates Day while showcasing local small businesses from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Vendors include Birdie Hamilton – Kennedy’s Korner, Caitlin Sereda – Grassroots Massage Therapy, Get Boujee by Belle – Mobile Turker Hat Bar, Ellen Lambert – Lip Sense, Crystal Magouirk – Healing Body Work, Diana McGarry – Doterra Essential Oil, Lauryn James – XOXO Celebration, Nicole Schaefer – Beacoup Bauble & More, and Chyanne Hughes – Pine Woods Permanent Jewelry.
Visit with Studio Owner / Spiritual Director Shelly Burkhardt and Pilates Instructor Linda Ferrell-Mowrey and learn more about their offerings of Pilates, Community Space, Wellness Discovery, and Office Space.
Later that evening, join the music students of Faith Academy of Freestone as they release an original album for Song Release Night beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the sanctuary at First Baptist Church – Fairfield.
FAF’s music classes wrote the lyrics, created the chord progressions, and played the music. Listen as they perform their original songs live.
Friday, May 3rd
Make plans for a delicious Pulled Pork Fundraiser Lunch beginning 11:00 a.m. (until sold out) at Citizens State Bank of Teague. Proceeds benefit upcoming Teague 4th of July Rodeo, with portion donated to local First Responders.

Fairfield Farmers Market at Armadillo Emporium begins their second season this Saturday. Stop by from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to shop for produce, fresh-cut beef, chicken, eggs, homemade preserves, bread, salsa and more.
Mark your calendars, as this popular market will be held the first Saturday of each month, from May thru November.
Lemonade Day – Fairfield will host over 25 lemonade stands beginning at 10:00 a.m. on the Freestone County Courthouse Square, along with other locations in town.
The community is invited to bring their wallets and come thirsty in support of our youth entrepreneurs (see ads on this week’s front page on the newsstand).
Customers are encouraged to stop by the Chamber table to cast their votes for Fan Favorite. Awards will be announced at 2:00 p.m.
Grab some lunch as well, brought to you by Antioch Baptist Church.
Speaking of votes, Saturday is Election Day for Fairfield ISD and Wortham ISD Board of Trustees, and the City of Teague. Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Click here for locations.
