The Teague Lions began the season going scoreless and have won two of their last three, the last one returning the zero on the scoreboard to their opponents with a 30-0 shutout win over the Kemp Yellowjackets Friday night.
Teague scored early and often and scored a season high 30 points while blanking Kemp. The defensive performance was the standout on the night with three fumble recoveries and holding the Yellowjackets to minimal offensive production.
The youth of the Lion offense began the night with a touchdown. Kymani Johnson finished the night with 146 yards rushing and finished an early drive with a touchdown run. He had runs of 15 yards and 27 yards in the drive and Rice and Stacks split time running the offense.
Jehmel Rice tossed a pass to Tylin Randle for a touchdown to extend the lead and Henry Cardona added a 27-yard field goal.
Luke Stacks ran for two scores to close the scoring for the night and the Lions season record improved to 2-4.
The Lions return home on Friday to take on the defending district champion Malakoff Tigers on Friday night.
