The Teague Lions battled for a half in Lorena before falling to the Leopards 34-13 in a non-district game.
Lorena built a 27-13 halftime lead with three touchdown passes from senior quarterback Bradley Lina to Ty Moore. He and Moore connected on a six-yard touchdown and then a second one from 27 yards to build a lead.
Lina added his third touchdown before the half on a 30-yard touchdown pass. Lina completed ten passes on the night for 162 yards and Moore was the receiver on seven of those passes for 136 yards and all three scores.
Teague did manage to put a touchdown on the board in highlight fashion. Nemier Herod took the handoff near the end of the second quarter and raced through the Leopard defense for a 46-yard touchdown. They had one earlier in the evening and trailed 27-13 at the half.
The Lions are looking for their first win of the season (0-3) and will be on the road for the second consecutive week. While the district opponents will open play, the Lions will have their final non-district game in Hempstead to take on the Bobcats.
