The Teague Lions offense had a huge night with a 46-14 lead at the half and cruised to a 60-20 win over the Eustace Bulldogs. The win kept the Teague playoff hopes alive and a win over Fairfield in the season finale could be enough to earn the playoff spot.

Teague fell behind early, but it was senior running back Nemier Herod with the first of several scores to pace the offense. He lined up outside and ran past the defense and quarterback Jake Callahan hit him in stride for the 61-yard touchdown and the Uriel Medina kick would tie the score at 7-7.

The Bulldogs regained the lead, but the Lions hit the big play to get the game closer. Callahan handed off to Herod and he raced through the Bulldog defense for a 56-yard run. The extra point was no good and the Bulldog lead remained 14-13.

Teague earned one of three interceptions on the game and took over deep in Bulldog territory and would score to take the lead. Later in the period, Herod took a flip pass in front of Callahan and then sprinted up the near sideline for the 58-yard touchdown and the 27-14 lead.

The Teague offense kept the pressure on Eustace with a pair of Callahan touchdown passes, the second a 64-yard score to Herod.
The final score of the first half was a Callahan touchdown pass and the Lions went to the locker room with a huge first half output of 46 points. Herod would add a 72-yard run in the second half to complete the scoring and a Teague 60-20 win.

The Lions got their first win of the season and it will eliminate the Bulldogs from playoff contention. Malakoff and Groesbeck have clinched the first two spots for the postseason. Teague, Fairfield and Kemp are battling for the final two places and the home game against Fairfield will tell the final chapter in the odd story of the 2020 season.
