Linda Nell Fryer, 80, of Fairfield, passed away at her home on May 15, 2022. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Harmony Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2022 also at Harmony Presbyterian Church with Rev. Tom Prentiss officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery in Kirvin. Pallbearers will be Charles Wilson, Maxx Wilson, Russell Fryer, Scott Fryer and Peyton Fryer.
Linda was born August 11, 1941 in Teague, Texas to parents Raymond and Zada Brown Rankin. Linda was a lifelong resident of Fairfield and was well known and loved by many. Linda owned automobile dealerships and worked in the public sector as Fairfield City Council member and Mayor Pro-Tem. She especially loved her card playing friends; gathering with them was one of the highlights of her week. She was a member of Harmony Presbyterian Church in Fairfield. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a husband, William Lee York; a son James Raymond York and a brother, Travis Rankin.
Linda is survived her husband, Charles Fryer. She is also survived by a sister Billie Bond of Fairfield; her son Charles Wilson and his wife Debbie Wilson of Liberty Hill, TX; grandchildren, Maxx Wilson, Kaitlin Newman, and Addison York; also, Russell Fryer of Fairfield, Scott Fryer of Dallas, Peyton and Taylor Fryer and great-grandson Watson Fryer all of Azle, Tx.
