The Libertarian Party of Cherokee County is hosting a candidate forum highlighting Libertarian candidates seeking statewide, district, and local election. Candidates expected to attend include gubernatorial candidates Kory Watkins, Patrick Smith, and Mark Tippetts. Attorney General candidate Michael Harris and Comptroller candidate Ben Sanders, as well as Agriculture Commissioner candidate Richard Carpenter and Railroad Commissioner candidate Mike Wright, have confirmed they will be present. Senatorial candidates Shane Newsom, Phil Gray, and Neal Dikeman will speak. Also planning to speak are regional candidates Allen Miller for State Rep District 4 and John Wilford, Cherokee County County Clerk hopeful.
The event will be the first Libertarian candidate forum of this caliber to be held in East Texas.
Each candidate will be given five minutes to speak and will have another five minutes to take questions from the audience. Additionally, a meet and greet time will precede the event for informal discussion with candidates.
Voters from all East Texas counties are invited to attend this event to hear these candidates speak and to learn more about the principles and platform of the Libertarian Party. The Libertarian Party seeks to minimize government and maximize individual freedoms.
