Larry James Cammack, 76 of Fairfield, passed away March 18, 2023, at his residence. He was born May 6, 1946, in Longview to James and Bettye Cammack. Larry was a singer songwriter and performed around the country at different venues. He served in the United States Army where he was in the 25th Infantry Division in Vietnam and the 46th Infantry Division. He received the Vietnam Service Metal with 2 Bronze service medals, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Metal, National Defense Service Metal and Combat Infantryman Badge, Bronze Star Medal and Sharpshooter.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Jan. He is survived by a brother Mark Cammack, his three children, Michael Shayne Cammack, Jayson Thomas Cammack, Catherine Elizabeth Page. Four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, his service dog “Hound Dog” and numerous extended family members and friends.
Memorial service will be held at the Red Lake Clubhouse on April 22, 2023, at 2:00 PM in Fairfield, Tx. A graveside memorial service will be held at DFW National Cemetery Friday May 5th at 1:00 PM.
