Graveside services for Larry (Big L) McDaniel, 70, was held on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Woodland Cemetery in Kirvin. Pastor Andrew Weitner officiated.
Serving as pallbearers were Wade McDaniel, Derrick McDaniel, Mike McDaniel, Jamie McDaniel, Johnny Drews, Domingo Leal, and Sue Hogan.
A visitation was held on Saturday, November 2, 2019, with the family present, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague.
Mr. McDaniel passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at Fairfield Nursing & Rehab.
Larry (Big L) McDaniel was born on August 16, 1949 in Teague to parents James Henry Vernon & Helen Louise Norton McDaniel. He was a 1967 graduate of Wortham High School. Mr. McDaniel was a U. S. Marine serving our country from February 1971 until October 1974. He worked in the oilfield nearly all his life. Larry was a man of many trades and hobbies. He enjoyed cooking BBQ, fishing, and carpentry. Larry loved music and his pet raccoon; but more importantly, his family.
He is survived by his four children, Winters McDaniel and her children, Karyn Williams and Cameron Williams, Wade McDaniel and his son, Joseph McDaniel, Moriah Munoz & husband Diego and their son Benjamin Munoz, and Derrick McDaniel; the mother of his children, Vickie Gates; one sister, Verlene Martin; one brother, Dennis McDaniel; one niece, Ashley Carroll & husband C. L. and their children; six nephews, Jamie McDaniel & wife Leeann and their children, Michael McDaniel & wife Ashley and their children, Clayton McDaniel & wife Chassidy and their children, Heath Wayne McDaniel & wife Stephanie and their children, Byron McDaniel & wife Jessica, Joe McDaniel & wife De’Adrian and their children; numerous other relatives.
Mr. McDaniel was preceded in death by his parents, James Henry & Helen Louise Norton McDaniel; and two brothers, James Carey McDaniel, and Billy Wayne McDaniel.
