The Fairfield Lady Eagles are nearing a decade of district titles, and they added another on Tuesday night with a domination of the Palestine Westwood Lady Panthers at the Johnson Activity Center.
The game was never in question and the Lady Eagles jumped out to a big lead and avoided allowing the Lady Panthers to get any momentum. Blake Brackens, Keke Alexander and Jacelynn Schmidt put the original pressure on, and it was enough to build an 18-4 lead and they never looked back.
Lyla Huddleston finished the regular season with a big game and was the only offense the Lady Panthers could muster. She finished her night with 23 points and Danika Aristide added eight points.
Delaney McGowan entered late in the first half and played a majority of the second half and finished with six points and had a three pointer.
Kaylee Williams led the breakaway and scored 12points and the starters finished with an early night in the dominating 78-36 win.
Fairfield travelled to Granbury to play an exhibition warm up game against Cisco, a state ranked 2A Division I program.
Cisco built a halftime lead and went on to win the game 49-27.
The Lady Eagles are the top seed in the Division I bracket and will take on the Franklin Lady Lions at Leon High School on Tuesday at 6pm.
The Teague Lady Lions. The Teague Lady Lions are the runner up in the Division I bracket and will play the Little River-Academy Lady Bees on Monday at Hearne.
In the Division II bracket, top seed Buffalo will travel to Viking Gym in Bryan and play the Rogers Lady Eagles and Westwood plays Thrall on Tuesday at Hearne.
