UPDATE: Fairfield Girls Varsity will play Florence on Monday, February 14th at 6pm at Midway High School.
The Fairfield Lady Eagles played two games on the road with no surprises as they cruised past Westwood and Elkhart.
Fairfield traveled to Palestine Westwood and ran past the Lady Panthers 90-9 to add another district win. The starting lineup was a bit different but the result was the same. Jalynn Calloway, Avery Thaler, Cooper Lawley, Emori Davis and Jimilyn Nash. Nash scored ten in the first period, half of the Lady Eagle total, and Davis added six in the 20 point period.
The second period had some more household names as Daniels came in with seven points and Shadasia Brackens added five. Eight Lady Eagles scored (Addie Cox, Daniels, Calloway, Dowell, Thaler, S. Brackens, M. Brackens and Nash) and the Lady Panthers trailed 49-5 at the half.
Fairfield followed the second period with a 21 point third period and Shadasia Brackens, McKinna Brackens and Thaler tallied four points each to build the lead.
Thaler went hot in the final period and scored 12 of her game high 20 points in the fourth, Davis added eight of her 14 points in the fourth period. Nash had the big first period and also finished with 14 points in the 90-9 win.
Fairfield stayed on the road and went to Elkhart to take on the Lady Elks and produced near the same result.
Addie Cox hit six quick points in the first period and Shadasia Brackens had five points, including a three pointer. Nash kept her scoring work with four points in the 28-3 first period.
Dowell took over the game in the second with scoring 12 of her game high 18 points. Shadasia Brackens and Calloway added four each and the Lady Eagles took a commanding 50-12 halftime lead.
McKinna Brackens had a quiet week until the third period in Elkhart. She scored ten of her 14 points in the third period, and continued to add points with her outstanding ability to find the open target to score. Thaler scored nine in the fourth period to finish the week with 33 points (16.5 scoring average). Fairfield closed out an 85-20 win.
Fairfield will return to the Johnson Activity Center where they will play the third place Teague Lady Lions and then back to the road to Franklin to take on the second place Lady Lions.
