The Fairfield Lady Eagles completed a 14-0 district campaign and won District 20-3A and now are ready to make their way to the state tournament for the third straight year.
The Lady Eagles hosted the regular season finale when the Crockett Lady Bulldogs visited the Johnson Activity Center. Fairfield dominated for all four quarters and won 90-14 and with no warm-up game, will head to the bi-district round on Monday.
The Lady Eagles jumped out to a 44-13 halftime lead with a three pointer by Jarahle Daniels in the first period. Emori Davis scored a goal and was fouled and Breyunna Dowell, Addie Cox and Jimilyah Nash scored four first period points each. Dowell scored eight in the second period and McKinna Brackens added 11 points to extend the lead.
The second half was all Fairfield. The Lady Eagles went on a 46-1 run in the second half to end the regular season in dominating fashion.
Shadasia Brackens scored 10 of her 11 points in the third period and Dowell added 18 of her game high 29 points in the final two periods. Daniels tossed in 17 points in the final game.
Fairfield goes in as the top seed in the playoffs and in the top of the TABC Class 3A poll. They will face the fourth-place team from 19-3A.
They will take on the Florence Lady Buffaloes on Monday night at Waco Midway High School. The Teague Lady Lions will enter as the second-place team and face the Rogers Lady Eagles on Monday night in Madisonville.
