The Fairfield Lady Eagles continued to dominate District 20-3A play with two lopsided wins over Elkhart and Teague and lead the district race.

On Tuesday, the Lady Eagles took on the Elkhart Lady Elks and came away with an easy 75-5 win. Fairfield jumped out to a 26-0 lead in the opening period. Jarahle Daniels hit a three and Shadasia Brackens scored a three pointer for five points early. Jimilyah Nash chipped in eight in the first period off the bench. Finally, Kristavia Nelms added four points and the Lady Eagles were in cruise control.

The remainder of the game was the same dominating effort. Elkhart had a three pointer in the second period and a score in the final period but that was all the Lady Eagle defense would allow. McKinna Brackens led all scorers with 15 points and Nash and Avery Thaler pitched in 12 each for the Fairfield Lady Eagles.

The Friday game was a short road trip to Teague to take on the Lady Lions. Teague shared the district lead at the time. The Lady Lions had a good game plan for the top-ranked Lady Eagles and led midway through the first period. Reagan Heggins pounded the offensive glass for a rebound and score and Teague led 9-8. Bre Dowell and McKinna Brackens tallied ten in the final half of the first period from the paint and the Lady Eagles led 22-11 after one period.

Teague hit only three of 16 shots in the second period and the Lady Eagles were able to extend the lead while they hit eight of 19 from the field. Shadasia and McKinna Brackens combined for ten in the period, including some scoring off of offensive rebounds and a made shot with a foul. Fairfield led 41-23 at the half when the Lady Lions missed 12 of their final 13 from the field in the first half.

The Lady Eagle dominance continued in the opening moments of the second half, ending with a 40-8 run since the Lady Eagles had a 29-17 advantage midway through the second period. Fairfield hit six straight shots and seven of eight at one point, including four from long distance, three from Shadasia Brackens and one from Daniels.

Heggins and Jolee Haley battled the Lady Eagles and could not keep pace in the 83-40 Fairfield win. Haley led the Lady Lions with 14 points and Shadasia Brackens led all scorers with 25 points. McKinna Brackens had 16 points and 13 rebounds and Dowell tossed in 14 points and 11 rebounds.
