The Fairfield Lady Eagles scored 212 points to cruise to the team district 19-4A track title at Wildcat Stadium in Palestine.
The top four finishers in each event move onto the area meet in a week. Following that, qualifiers will compete in the Region III meet.
Morgan Coleman was an early highlight in the running finals with a district title in the 800-meter run. She pulled away from the competition and won the event by 13 seconds. She already had some hardware with a second-place finish in the 400-meter dash.


Jamesha Fields finished second in the 100-meter dash and was second in the 400-meter dash behind teammate Coleman, who finished as the district champion.
Jarahle Daniels ran away from the field in the 3200-meter run with a district title and a 15 second margin and returned to take a third-place finish in the 1600.
In the field events, Jaylin Hughes won the pole vault with a height of 8’6”. Haley Phillips has had consistent throws in the shot put and the district meet was no different with a near four foot win over Ja’Bria Simmons of Palestine.


Madison Smith took a second-place finish in the 1600 meter run and finished fourth in the 3200-meter run.
Kaylee Adams qualified for the area meet in both hurdle events. She finished second in the 110 meter and later finished second in the 300 meter behind teammate Ava Grecu, who narrowly edge Adams for the win.
Fairfield finished with a district championship in the mile relay. The team of Iesha Jenkins, Ava Grecu, Carsyn Cox and Morgan Coleman ran a 4:18 and finished ahead of Madisonville. The 4×200 meter relay finished second behind Madisonville with Jenkins, Jada Clark, Audry Archibald and Cox.
Carsyn Cox and Iesha Jenkins took third and fourth the 200-meter dash, Bree Dowell finished fifth in the event.
Michelle Castillo took third in the high jump and the long jump. Dowell finished third in the triple jump. Josey Richardson finished second in the discus and Phillips qualified for the area meet with a fourth-place finish.

Fairfield Eagles take First and Second Place as AJ Polk crosses for the number one spot.


For the guys, A.J Polk won the 200-meter dash over teammate Tyler Smith. Sergio Izquierdo edged out a Palestine runner for the district title in the 110 meter hurdles. Ty Bachtel finished fourth in the same event.
In the field events, Devin Cunningham won the high jump and D’Untre Dixon completed a third-place finish in the long jump. Hudson finished fourth in the triple jump.
Jashaughn Hatcher finished second in the shot put. And Bachtel finished second in the discus and Connor Jackson finished fourth.
The Eagle qualified for the area meet in all three relays. The 4×200 meter relay of Polk, Smith, Justin Abram and Izquierdo edged Mexia. The sprint relay of Polk, Smith, Abram, and JarMycheal Hudson finished second behind Palestine. The mile relay finished fourth.
Nowland Hunter finished second in the 800-meter run. Joey Davis finished fourth in the 1600 meter run and qualified for the area meet. He had already claimed a third-place finish in the 3200-meter run.
