The Wortham Lady Bulldogs completed the first round of district play with a win over the Mart Lady Panthers in five sets. Both teams were 3-0 coming into the match but the Lady Bulldogs came through to have the lead in district play after the first round.
Wortham started the first set strong with a 25-14 win. The next two sets were close with Mart overpowering Wortham with 23-25 and 25-27 wins. The Lady Bulldogs came through on the fourth set with a 25-7 win taking the match to five sets. The fifth set was a true battle with back and forth points between both teams with Wortham taking the lead late in the set for the win 15-12.
