The tradition began with a flag and a lawnmower.
One year, the late Tommy J. Bryant decorated his riding lawnmower with big American flags and rode up and down the streets of Streetman.
He was a WWII veteran and wanted people in his hometown to celebrate their freedom on July 4th.
The next year, 3 or 4 people joined him, and from the day forward, Streetman has enjoyed a patriotic lawnmower parade each year.
Next year will their 25th year. We hope you will make plans to attend.
