Kane Beef is initiating a precautionary Class II recall of approximately 60,350 pounds of Fresh Ground Beef, August 10, 2016. Kane Beef is committed to the safety and integrity of our products and is issuing the recall because of a possible presence of a foreign object, thought to be an aluminum fastener used to secure packages of ground beef.
All recalled products were produced at the Kane Beef plant in Corpus Christi, TX, USDA Establishment Number #337.
All products were shipped to one retailer in Texas.
Kane Beef learned of the possible presence of a foreign object from a customer who had received one consumer complaint regarding a small piece of metal in the ground beef package. The only customer affected by this recall is the one who reported the issue to Kane Beef. No injuries or illnesses have been associated with this product.
