“I’m not really good at talking, but I feel that through songwriting I can express myself better,” explains Zadie McPherson of Fairfield.
She gave her very first performance at Joe Friday’s Diner in Mexia as part of the Cindy Walker Song and Supper Showcase held last month.
This was her first time onstage, and performing with her brother, Zaden, who plays guitar.
“I come up with the lyrics and then Zaden comes up with the melody. I just go with it,” she says with a smile.
According to Zadie, she uses songwriting to connect with herself and the world.
Mom, Jessica, says, “We got to see it from start to finish, so to watch it all come together was incredible.”
“Mom is my biggest supporter,” exclaims Zadie. “She’s so amazing.”
Zadie was featured on KCEN TV, Channel 6 out of Waco as part of their Women’s History Month. See their website for more information and video snippets from the television coverage at www.kcentv.com.
