Retired teacher, geneologist, researcher, lecturer and member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy Joan Troegel spoke to members of the RC Lake Book Club about the Civil War in Texas and what was happening in the world during the War at the Club’s June discussion session.
Ms. Troegel, who makes her home in Houston, was invited to speak as an adjunct to the Club’s discussion of Galveston, a novel about the Battle of Galveston Bay by P.G. Nagle published by Tom Doherty Associates in 2002.
