Jimmy Dale’s journey on this earth came to a close on Friday, August 2, 2024, at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown, Texas, leaving a void that can never be filled. Born in Dew, Texas, on February 29, 1940, he embraced his identity as a leap year baby with pride, marking a life filled with extraordinary stories and adventures. As one of the youngest and most accomplished operators for Sheehan Pipeline, he roamed the vast landscapes of America, driven by a passion for heavy equipment and a thirst for experience. In the early 1970s, he planted roots in Baytown, Texas—a place where he raised his family, worked, and created cherished memories.
Jimmy Dale was a father, a passionate dog enthusiast, and a proud owner of that trusty old John Deere 410 D Backhoe. His enthusiasm for construction was infectious; he found joy in supervising while letting others take the reins. Larger than life, Jimmy Dale was known for his straightforwardness and no-nonsense approach, making him a memorable and impactful presence.
A towering figure in every sense, Jimmy Dale was characterized by his larger-than-life personality and forthrightness. A fighter with a strong will, he embraced life on his own terms, facing challenges with the resilience of a cat with nine lives.
Jimmy Dale is lovingly remembered by his brother Kenneth Clary and wife Dorothy of Bryan/College Station, Texas, brother Olen Clary of Dew, Texas, sister Glenda Simpson of Dew, Texas; his daughter, Jeanna Clary Andros and husband Marc of The Woodlands, Texas; and sons Jaymie Clary and wife Heather of Cove, Texas; Jimmy Clary and wife Jennifer of Highlands, Texas; and Jeffrey Clary and wife Lisa of Mont Belvieu, Texas.
His family continues with the light of his legacy shining through his grandchildren: McCall Reagan and husband Blaine of Magnolia, Texas; McClane Titterington and fiancé Amy Woodward of Austin, Texas; Nick Andros of Washington D.C; Ross Clary and fiancé Grace Sharp of Cove; Texas, Emma Clary and fiancé Bradley Templeton of Dayton, Texas; Zac Clary of Highlands, Texas; Nikki Hotchkiss and husband Thomas of Baytown, Texas; Mer Clary of Highlands, Texas; and Logan, Reagan, and Madeline Clary, all of Mont Belvieu, Texas.
His great-grandchildren—Frankie Reagan, Rhone Reagan, Weston Clary, Warren Clary, Jaxson Hotchkiss, Emery Hotchkiss, and Cole Hotchkiss—are reminders of the vibrant legacy he leaves behind, a testament to a life well-lived, brimming with love, laughter, and cherished moments.
