Janice was born June 30, 1955 to Victor Anthony and Mary Hall Santell in Sharon, Pennsylvania.
She was raised there with her three sisters, Jean, Judy, and Teri and two brothers Victor and Paul.
Janice moved to Galveston Island in 1982 were she made many friends; and worked for Randall’s for many years.
She devoted her life to raising, rescuing, and protecting all animals. Moving to Oakwood in 2012, she created a sanctuary for any and all animals who sought refuge.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Mary Santell; sister, Teri; and step-father, Jack Wilson.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Robert Stone; sister, Jean Hendrix; brothers, Victor and Paul Santell; and many friends.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on August 13th at First Christian Church located at 119 N. Holly Street in Oakwood.
Officiating services will be Michael and Judy Thomason of Oakwood, who are very dear friends of the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations in Janice’s name to Galveston Island Humane Society or Hospice of East Texas in Tyler.
