The FHS Interact Club will host the annual recycle event on November 20 and November 21 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. This is usually in April.
“The event has been delayed six months,” math teacher and campus sponsor Nicole Crawford said, “so this will be a huge haul.”
There are different categories for donations: medication disposal, including unwanted prescriptions and over the counter medication will be accepted, but no liquids or needles; textiles, which include clothes, bedding, and shoes in clean and good condition to be donated to families in need in Freestone county; electronics, including everything from television to cell phones (limit of two CRT TVs per household). The full list of what is accepted or not can be found on the FISD website. All types of batteries will be accepted including car batteries.
“We can always use more volunteers,” sophomore Spain Covert said. “Everyone in Interact club is needed to come help.”
The recycle event will be at the new location of 615 Post Oak, between Highway 84 and the FHS. For more information please contact Nicole Crawford at 903-389-4177, and to become a part of the recycling community text @ffrecycle to (469)425-2522 for reminders of the next recycle events.
