Local Elections for the Dew ISD Board of Trustees and Fairfield Hospital District’s Board of Directors will mostly likely be cancelled this year, unless there was a last-minute filing for a write-in candidate.

In both races, only the incumbent officials have filed for re-election, with no new candidates filing to oppose them.

–Teague Hospital District Board will NOT have an election in November. They have notified The ‘Times’ that their next election will be held in May 2025 to coincide with City elections.

–Dew ISD Board of Trustees has three open positions: Places 3 (Monte Morris), 6 (Kim Massey), and 7 (Carl Clark).

–Fairfield Hospital District Board of Trustees has four positions open, currently held by incumbents: George Robinson, Vance Oglesbee, Lisa Tate and Carman Mannen.

There will be a change in the way the Board of Trustees elections will be held moving forward.

Historically, the FHD Board Members would be elected every other year for a 4-year term. In January of this year, the Board voted to change that policy to hold annual elections for 3-year terms.

To make the transition, the four members that start a new term this year will draw for either a 2 or 3-year term, which will establish the staggered terms.

In 2026, there will be three members whose terms will be up and an election for 3-year terms will be announced in June of that year.
