Many Texas alcohol retailers and consumers have questions about how the end of Daylight Saving Time at 2 a.m. Nov. 5 affects their ability to sell and consume alcohol during the early morning hours.
Texas law allows eligible retailers who hold a Late Hours Certificate to sell alcohol until 2 a.m. on any night.
When Daylight Saving Time ends at 2 a.m. on Nov. 5, the time is set back one hour and the legal time becomes 1 a.m. again, resulting in retailers and their customers having an extra hour to sell and consume alcohol.
