Multiple agencies were in hot pursuit Thursday night, March 30, 2017 when a suspicious vehicle fled from law enforcement officers.
At approximately 10:45 p.m., Officer DeMarcus Jones of the Teague Police Department was performing his regular patrol duties when he observed a suspicious vehicle in the Dairy Queen parking lot.
Officer Jones exited his vehicle and attempted to make contact with the driver of the truck, who quickly sped away.
Joined by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), and the Freestone County Sheriff’s Department, Officer Jones gave chase, but eventually lost the vehicle at County Road 685, where the driver reportedly left the dead end road, continuing through a field.
According to Lieutenant DeWayne Philpott of the Teague Police Department, responding law enforcement officers proceeded to search the field, but were unable to locate the suspect.
It was soon determined that the vehicle, a 2007 white Ford F-150 with a Texas license plate number CKV-9702, was previously reported stolen from Temple, Texas on March 29th. The truck will most likely have heavy front end damage.
The driver of the truck is described as a white male, wearing a green baseball cap.
The vehicle was last seen on FM 489, off of Interstate 45.
Anyone with any information regarding this vehicle or its driver, are urged to call 911 immediately.
